Nihon Kohden Corporation – Japan, a global giant in the areas of manufacturing critical care and In vitro Diagnostic Equipment centralized its Sri Lankan operations with TMI Solutions (Pvt) Ltd – a subsidiary of PLC Holdings International (Pvt) Ltd.
The Critical care business was brought under the control of TMI Solutions (Pvt) Ltd effective from 1st April 2014 and the IVD business was also handed over to TMI Solutions (Pvt) Ltd effective from 1st July 2014. A meeting was held between the Chairman and Senior Managers of Nihon Kohden Corporation and Chairman of PLC Holdings International (Holding company of TMI Solutions (Pvt) Ltd) Mr. C.S. Mendis on the 15th of May 2014 at Nihon Kohden Corporation Head office at Tokyo, Japan.
Accordingly TMI Solutions has made significant investments in human resources and operational space and equipment specifically to manage the Nihon Kohden operation in Sri Lanka.
PLC Holdings International partnered with 3S Korea Co. Ltd to install Sri Lanka’s first testing laboratory for Refrigerators. The new testing laboratory will help the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority and National Engineering Research and Development Center of Sri Lanka to test the energy efficiency of the refrigerators imported to Sri Lanka. A technical presentation was done to the SEA officials and SLSI engineers by Mr. John Yoon – Sales Manager – 3S Korea on refrigerator calori meters at the SEA auditorium on the 21st of October in Colombo. Mr. C.I.S. Choi – Director – 3S also participated in the presentation. The event was coordinated by PLC Holdings International (Pvt) Ltd.
Mr. Daesun Chung – CEO of Hyundai BS & C and his senior project directors were in Sri Lanka on a business visit from the 11th to 14 of January 2014. During his visit to Sri Lanka Mr. Chung had meetings with H.E. President Mahinda Rajapaksha, Presidential Secretariat Hon. Lalith Weerathunga and Senior Officials of Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka ( ICTA).
Chairman of PLC Holdings International (Pvt) Ltd Mr. C. S. Mendis had discussions with Mr. Chung on developing the business lines of Hyundai in the areas of IT, construction and infrastructure development, ship building and exporting commodities from Sri Lanka to South Korea.
